The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has opened for a passionate and engaging VCE Chemistry & Science Teacher to join a dynamic Science faculty at a school near Sale, starting Term 3, 2026. This is a full-time, 12-month contract with a clear pathway to an ongoing position for the right educator who delivers outstanding learning outcomes and contributes positively to the school community.

The successful teacher will inspire curiosity, scientific thinking, and academic excellence across Years 7–12, with a primary focus on VCE Chemistry (Units 1–4) and general Science at the junior secondary level.


About the Role

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA Study Designs
• Teach VCE Chemistry (Units 1–4) with a strong focus on student achievement and Study Score outcomes
• Deliver engaging Years 7–10 Science lessons with hands-on, inquiry-based learning
• Collaborate with a supportive Science team to develop curriculum, resources, and laboratory programs
• Use data to inform teaching practice and personalise learning
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities

About You

• Current VIT registration (essential)
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification with a Science/Chemistry method
• Proven ability to teach VCE Chemistry to a high standard
• Strong classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills
• A growth mindset, collaborative approach, and commitment to ongoing professional learning
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and best practice in practical Science teaching
