Two leadership roles. One outstanding Queensland grammar school. A lifestyle Melbourne can only dream about in July.

Inspired Recruitment is partnering with one of Queensland's most respected grammar schools to appoint two senior leaders for a January 2027 start. The school sits half an hour from the coast, close enough for a swim before school or a weekend on the sand, yet far enough from the city to enjoy space, sunshine and a real sense of community. If you have ever wondered what your career and your life might look like a little further north, this is the moment to find out.

This is a school with a long and proud history, strong academic results, a thriving boarding community and a reputation that carries weight across the state and beyond. Leadership here is well supported, well resourced and taken seriously. Both roles are full-time and permanent.

Head of Department: Business Studies

You will lead a talented and committed Business faculty across the senior years, shaping curriculum, driving teaching quality and inspiring students to think commercially and creatively about the world around them. You will mentor your team, oversee assessment and moderation, contribute to whole-school academic strategy and build a department that students want to be part of. We are looking for an experienced Business Studies teacher with a proven record of strong senior results and either current leadership experience or a clear readiness to step up.

Salary: $154k - 160k + super based on experience

Boarding Head of Year

Boarding is at the heart of this school and the Head of Year is at the heart of boarding. You will take pastoral responsibility for a year group of boarders, working closely with families, boarding staff, teaching staff and the wider wellbeing team to make sure every student feels known, safe and supported. You will lead a team of boarding supervisors, coordinate the daily rhythm of boarding life, manage wellbeing and behaviour with warmth and consistency, and help young people from regional Queensland and beyond thrive away from home. Experience in boarding or residential care is highly regarded, as is a genuine passion for pastoral leadership. A teaching load forms part of this role.

Salary: $92k to $130k + super based on experience + accomodation provided

What the school offers

A competitive leadership salary with allowances, relocation support for interstate appointments, a beautiful campus with excellent facilities, a collegial and forward-thinking executive team, real investment in your professional growth, and a coastal Queensland lifestyle that makes the Monday commute feel very different.

What you will need

Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT), or eligibility to obtain it before January 2027. Registered teachers from Victoria and other states can transfer through mutual recognition, and we will guide you through the process. You will also need relevant tertiary qualifications, a strong record of teaching practice, and the leadership qualities that bring out the best in students and colleagues.
