A well-established mainstream secondary school in Regional Victoria is seeking a Head of Special Education to lead and develop its inclusive practices and oversee a dedicated team of 13 Teaching Assistants.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a supportive executive team, where inclusion is not just a policy but a priority.
The Role
• Lead and manage the Special Education department within a mainstream secondary setting
• Supervise and mentor 13 Teaching Assistants
• Support teachers in implementing differentiated and inclusive practices
• Work closely with families, external providers and leadership
• Drive compliance, documentation and individual education planning
About You
• Qualified teacher with current VIT registration
• Strong experience in Special Education within a secondary setting
• Proven leadership or team management experience
• Deep understanding of inclusion, adjustments and student wellbeing
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
