French Teacher, Years 7 to 8

Inspired Recruitment is partnering with a growing school in Melbourne's outer west to appoint a French Teacher for the start of the 2027 school year. This is a permanent, full-time position teaching French across Years 7 and 8, with the classroom foundation already in place and a program that is only heading upward.

About the opportunity

The school is expanding year on year and its Languages program is expanding with it. Over the next three years the school will grow through to VCE, which means the French program you build in the junior years will follow your students all the way to Year 12. For the right teacher, this opens a real and achievable pathway into a Head of Languages position as the faculty takes shape. You will have the chance to design curriculum, set the culture of the department, and put your own stamp on how French is taught and celebrated across the school.

What you will be doing

You will plan and deliver engaging French lessons to Years 7 and 8 that build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will create a classroom where students feel comfortable having a go, bring French language and culture to life through immersive and creative learning, and contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities and the Languages team. As the program grows, you will help shape the scope and sequence that carries students through to VCE.

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you hold VIT registration or are eligible to obtain it, along with a recognised teaching qualification and the ability to teach French across secondary year levels. You bring strong French language proficiency and a warm, energetic classroom presence that connects with early secondary students. You are ambitious about where your career can go and keen to help build a program rather than simply inherit one. Experience with the Victorian Curriculum is helpful, and an interest in VCE French in the years ahead is a definite plus.
