Food Technology Teacher (Food Tech) - Great School near Traralgon, VIC

We are recruiting on behalf of a great school located near Traralgon, in the Gippsland region of Victoria (VIC), which is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Tech Teacher to join its supportive and well-resourced team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Food Technology educator who loves inspiring students in the kitchen and classroom, developing their practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and understanding of food science, hospitality and healthy eating.
Salary: $80,000 - $130,000 + super, based on experience
About the Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging Food Tech and Food Technology lessons across a range of secondary year levels. You will create a safe, hands-on learning environment in the food technology kitchens, foster a love of cooking and nutrition, and prepare students for further study and pathways in food, hospitality and the culinary arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across secondary year levels
- Develop students' practical cooking, food preparation and food safety skills
- Teach key concepts in nutrition, food science, hospitality and healthy living
- Create engaging, hands-on learning experiences in the food tech kitchens
- Assess and report on student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
About You / Requirements
To be successful in this Food Technology Teacher role, you will have:
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or eligibility to obtain VIT registration
- A recognised teaching qualification (Min Bachelor of Education or equivalent)
- The ability to teach Food Technology / Food Tech across secondary year levels
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking, nutrition and food safety
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student wellbeing and success
