English Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent) - Great School near Traralgon, VIC
Are you a passionate English teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of a great school located near Traralgon, in the Gippsland region of Victoria (VIC), which is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join its supportive and well-resourced team.
This is a full-time, permanent position teaching English to Years 7-10 through to the end of the year, with the exciting possibility to teach VCE English from 2027 onwards, based on the successful teacher's skills and preferences. The school is ideally looking for a Term 3 start (13/07/2026).
About the Role
As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Years 7-10, fostering students' love of reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will create a positive, inclusive learning environment and support students to achieve strong outcomes, with the opportunity to progress into VCE English teaching from 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons for Years 7-10
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking and critical analysis skills
- Create engaging, inclusive and well-managed learning experiences
- Assess and report on student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum
- Contribute positively to the English faculty and wider school community
- Prepare for the possibility of teaching VCE English from 2027 onwards
About You / Requirements
To be successful in this English Teacher role, you will have:
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
- A recognised teaching qualification (Bachelor of Education or equivalent)
- The ability to teach English across Years 7-10
- Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and English pedagogy
- An interest in, and capacity to, teach VCE English from 2027 (desirable)
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to student wellbeing and success
